Remaking the Swiss Army “Salt & Pepper” canvas

In pursuit of a retro and vintage feel, we custom-made this unique looking canvas, recreating the fabric used in the Swiss Army backpacks from World War II. The fabric is woven irregularly with shades of beige and light army green fibers, presenting a "salt and pepper" like texture, which is why this fabric is also known as Salt & Pepper.

Introducing the special edition Pilot 3.5L, we have paired this fabric with webbing for outdoor oriented utilities and modern functionality, to create a bag that combines "strong retro style with practicality.

Q:  Is the Pilot 3.5L waterproof?

The fabric is water repellent but the bag is not waterproof. The bag has been tested out in the rain for over an hour and the interior still remains dry.
